What decides the price of a press release
- The number of websites. A package that publishes on 100+ websites costs less than one with 170+.
- Which websites. Well-known national outlets such as ANI News, PTI, The Tribune and Business Standard cost more than regional and smaller news sites.
- Where it is read. A release for readers across India is priced differently from one for a global audience.
- Who writes it. If you want us to write the release for you, tell us when you message us.

What the price does not buy
These are paid placements. Your release is published on the websites listed in the package, and it may be labelled as sponsored. A paid package does not buy a journalist’s interest, and nobody can promise earned coverage, because editors decide what they publish. Be careful with any agency that guarantees a story in a named newspaper.
A press release is also not a ranking trick. It helps when a news site publishes your story, because that builds your name and brings readers. If a release reads like an advertisement, editors delete it, so the writing matters as much as the package.
How to choose a package
- Start with your audience. Write down who should read the news: customers in one city, investors, partners or the national press.
- Pick outlets that match them. A business-news audience may want Business Standard or Outlook Business. A local launch may not need 170 websites.
- Ask for the outlet list before you pay. It should name the websites, not just say “top media”.
- Ask for a sample report. Each India package on our pricing page has a sample report from a past campaign.
- Check what is not guaranteed. The agency should tell you clearly which part is paid placement and which part is earned.
Can I write the press release myself?
Yes. If your news is clear, you can write it with our free press release template and worked example. You can then send it to editors yourself, or choose a package to have it published on a list of websites. Many businesses ask for help to find the angle and write in news style. See our press release service or our PR agency in India page.
